Welcome to PSME-Qatar

The Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME) was established in 1952 to maintain the integrity of the profession through the promotion of excellence in the practice of Mechanical Engineering. As a technical organization, PSME aims to enhance Science and Technology in the Philippines in order to contribute to its economic growth.

Through gatherings, conventions and continued communications, the organization brings together Mechanical Engineers nationwide in promoting fellowship and camaraderie.

The contributions of PSME to the unending growth of the Mechanical Engineering profession and technological advancement in the country have made lasting marks as proven from the recognition accorded by both public and private sectors.

To enhance the technical competency and integrity of Mechanical Engineers, the PSME was extended to Doha , State of Qatar and gave its birth in 2007 to be known as Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers - Qatar Chapter (PSME-Qatar).

About PSME-Qatar Chapter

There were numerous attempts in organizing a Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers in Qatar but was only realized on November 8, 2007, when seven mechanical engineers gathered in a humble accommodation with the perseverance, determination and pure dedication of Engr. Eugene M. Bautista. Along with him were Engineers Elmer Adarne, Tom Aguirre, Ronnie Dalistan; and the three past presidents from KSA; Engineers Filemon Agulo, Jun Berbie and Rey Castillo. It was then when PSME Qatar Chapter was conceived.

The 1st meeting of members, a non-formal gathering was held on December 1, 2007, at Km 3800, part of cornice near the palace of the ministry, with less than 30 gentlemen gathered and attend the meeting. The acquaintance was overwhelming, providing signal from each and every attendee that the society is looking ahead for a brighter camaraderie and fellowship in any field of mechanical engineering; from Consulting and Engineering, Project management, trading and contracting, mechanical services, and in the Oil and Gas industries in Qatar.

PSME – Qatar Chapter had approved its chartering in February 21, 2008 and was recognized by the Philippine Embassy – Doha, Qatar on March 18, 2008.

The PSME-Qatar Chapter officers envision that technical enhancement and profession are imperative to our fellow members in Qatar and to be competitive all over the world.

In spite of PSME Qatar Chapter being young at its early stage, we are empowered by our enthusiasm in meeting our goals and objectives for the betterment of its members in the middle-east and in the Philippines.

The success of the PSME-Qatar will not be possible without the help of the officers and members of the society.
